Too much studying-->lack of sleep-->increased ghrelin levels
-->makes me hungry-->eat more-->become FAT.
So its not a myth, people. Studying indeed makes you fat. And guess what i had after my dinner just now. A totally sinful and detrimental-to-the-waistline Peach Strudel. Oh the pastry crust was AWESOME, and paired with custard and whipped cream...heaven in your mouth. The peach pieces were tiny and few, but who cares when you've got the huge, crispy sugar dusted pastry crust that totally PWNS it. Wicked. Absolutely wicked. I was planning to leave half of it for my mum, but i whacked 3/4s of it and was thisCLOSE to walloping everything. Self-control, Shurong. Self-control.

Vacations, I can totally see/hear/smell/feel/taste? the blissful aura of your arrival. Keep it up.

On an absolutely irrelevant note, Persada Johor was having this Pikom fair two weeks ago, which is in more familiar words, a PC fair. So I made my dad bring me there on the first day (which a friday night), cos I was so kiasu and kept thinking that the good stuff would be gone if I went the next day (i'm a SINGAPORE PR after all eh, can't blame me). We arrived just half-an-hour before the closing time. There were like, not surprisingly, HORDES of people and dad and I had to squeeze through the crowd. I was thinking of getting a external harddisk to back up all my files just in case my dear acer here gets SDD out of the blue. The amount of viruses that the lousy, school-installed anti-virus detected has exceeded a hundred, so its time do something about it.
Back to my story. So we visited quite a few booths and enquired about the prices. I didn't want to get a cheap, never-heard-of brand that lasts for a while then cannot get detected by the computer after a year (which was what happened to the one I have at home, how depressing). I was torn between the Seagate FreeAgent and Sumsung ones. Eventually, I had to end my contemplation when the lights in the hall started to go off one by one and I settled for a wine red, 320GB Sumsung one, at a price of 275RM. Pretty ain't it?
I've backed up all my files already, and i'm thinking of going back to school to reformat and reinstall all the required programs. Next week maybe? Yay! Can't wait for monday to come.
Vacations, I can totally see/hear/smell/feel/taste? the blissful aura of your arrival. Keep it up.

The AW term paper is driving me nuts. This is my first time attempting a paper of 1200 words on a sole topic and I've been sitting at my desk since 2 this afternoon. My brain juices are running dry and as a kinesthetic learner, i think i'm probably gonna die of cramps and physical inactivity. ahhh.
On a side note, praise and worship this morning was so energising and refreshing. Its been a long time since i've enjoyed singing to God so much on a Sunday morning. Aunty chato is really awesome worship leader i must say, just as aunty becky is with the piano. Oh yes, JJ was back to play the drums this morning and i was so glad to see him:D Though all the songs were not new to me, it felt like it was my first time singing them. Anyway, I was supposed to do creche for today but there was only Hannah, Kareena, Nisha and Jocelyn who were present. Rachel and friends didn't come as they didn't have transport so i was contemplating if i should skip creche and stay downstairs for the message. Eventually, i decided to proceed with creche cos the girls were so fidgety, walking up and down the aisle and entering in and out of the backdoor!
Today's lesson was based on 1 Peter 4:10, regarding stewardship and how we should use our various gifts to serve God. To make it easier for them to understand, I made them do this fun activity of wrapping dishcloths with newspaper. So i assigned each child with a specific job like to fold the dishcloth, cut the paper to size, tape the wrapped dishcloth. Then i asked them questions like, what would happen if a particular child didn't want to do her job? and stuff like that. From their laughter and their request for more towels to wrap, i guess they really enjoyed the activity! (yeah talk about lesson evaluation)
Caught up with JJ during fellowship and learnt that he is currently on vacation till the 3rd week, which means he'll be around to play the drums when i worship lead! YAYness. And guess what? Sam is skipping NS to study electronic engineering at a polytechnic in Malacca. ok so I didn't know Malaysia had polytechnics but anyway, the news came to me as quite a shock. Gosh. I don't know how his parents ever agreed to that, but I'm totally not in favour of it. (HAHA as if it was for me to decide) He ought to have stayed lah! Like go make new friends and gain some muscle or something. If it was me, i would have definately gone for the experience(just too bad i wasn't selected heehee).
Ok breaktime over. Back to work on term paper eww.

This shall be a post of random photographs and videos.
Firstly,

This is what happens when you leave your laptop unattended at the table with a couple of juvenile deliquents armed with instruments for vandalism. Thank God I didn't owe them any money. LOL. I managed to clean it up and the only piece left is the apple logo sticker(right in the middle), which is currently making my acer such a macbook poser.
Next, I came across this video as I was checking out the RS alumni website yesterday night.
It totally sent me into the 想当年 mode. sigh. and I never realised I was so skinny during sec 3 heehee. Maybe it was the cross country and sports carnival. Ahhh how I miss playing netball for 4/4 T__T
So last thursday, I had this super wierd impulse to do goth on my eyes. Ultra random i know. (maybe cos i was wearing black on that day?LOL) Anyway, i got myself a liquid eyeliner and started experimenting.

hmm I wouldn't exactly consider it goth though. I didn't want draw the lines too thick lest I end up looking like a panda. So this is what I got. Nice? At least it does justice to my small eyes. But no I will never wear this to school. NEVER.
In case you were wondering,

This is how my new home is looks like. The picture was taken when we first went to view the place. Its a semi-detached, and the land area is larger than my current house. The only thing I like about it is that the garden is large enough to keep a dog. YAY. But getting the approval for permission to keep a dog is I suspect, highly impossible thanks to my dad. sigh.
Ok thats all for now. Shall hunt for more interesting stuff next time.

If anyone cuts my stomach open right now, water will spill out like a river and flood the neighbourhood, just like the the girl who forgot to ask the magic pot to stop cooking porridge. I'm sick and down with a fever, running nose and bad sore throat. Is its H1N1? No idea. Cos my mum refuses to send me to hospital for a check-up. She claims that by the time I get checked up and tested for it, I would have recovered by then (reads: efficiency of Malaysian hospitals). Besides, judging from my diet of 80% greens and minimum junk, she believes that my relatively strong immune system wouldn't allow my body get any sicker than this. At least i hope it wouldn't either.
I've had 2 visits to the doctor so far, one yesterday night, and one today morning. The first visit was a complete waste of time and money. Initially, my mum wanted to go to the doctors to get and MC on my behalf despite me protesting how unethical it was (and i heard some local clinics do sell MCs to students). So she went and called me 5 minutes later, asking me to wait at the gate for her, as the doctor had to see the patient to issue an MC. Anyway, I was glad to hear from the doctor that the government does checks on clinics for such corrupt dealings. He prescribed some medicine for me, but it was those over-the-counter medicine you could buy from any pharmacy (more for a minor flu). He didn't want to give me any antibiotics at first, thanks to my mum's empahsis of not killing an ant with a gun. So when i woke up this morning with a high fever, blocked nose and green-phlegm-plagued sore throat, we realised that it was a mistake and returned to claim the mighty antibiotics. LOL.
I've missed two days of school already and I need to recover soon. I'll be meeting shaa tomorrow to work on our MAYC. Hope I'll recover by tomorrow and not get quarantined at the customs yeah?

So you came back, but am I suppose to care? I don't understand. Why do you make it seem like it was a contract, with a 100% guarantee chop on it? You keep harping on the same matter, like it was yours all along. Please, whoever gave you this 'inspiration' ought to be smacked left right centre. Sometimes, I really wonder what kept you going for the past few years. Talk to me only when you're sick and done trying k. I'll be glad to listen.

God has not given us the spirit of fear
But has given us the strength to obey
With power and sound mind
With love the unfailing kind
Oh be not ashamed of His way
May the Lord find us faithful
May His word be our banner held high
May the Lord find us faithful
Everyday though we live though we die
This song suddenly came into my mind just now as I was being pissed with my dad over some issues. Though he isn't against me attending church, he never liked the fact that i'm spending a whole lot of my time and effort in ministry work. Like when I'm in Singapore, I attend YFC. In Malaysia, I have my church activities. Plus, when I'm on duty for the children's ministry every first and second week of the month, my weekends would be spent like 70% in church. For Saturdays, Praise Kids in the afternoon, youth in the evenings. For Sundays, there'll be morning service. The only time I have left for schoolwork is mostly sunday afternoons till night.(Kinda hardcore huh)
So my dad was lecturing me regarding this in the car just now. At first it was just a normal conversation of hows my studies and whats my plans for tomorrow. Then it evolved into this your-God-can-give-you-everything-meh kinda topic. He even brought up my results and questioned about why I'm serving this God so much and I'm not getting As sorta thing. In fact his exact words were, "Your god can give you As for your results meh? You god can give you money meh?" Then when I wanted to rebut and give God the glory for my well-done FM retest results, he was like "Aiyo, use your brain a bit lah! Your teacher will of course, give you a easy retest to show that her teaching is up to standard what. She cannot let the students fail again. if not she cannot answer to the school mah, right? Got logic or not?" WOAH I tell you. I have never felt sooo darn unjustified in a really really long time. As much as I wanted to speak up for amiable Prisca, God was terribly misunderstood. The urge to scream in his ear about his own obnoxious personal ethics was awfully strong, but I know he just won't listen. Even so, I know he'll be more encouraged to bring up all the things in my life that needs improvement. So I just kept quiet all the way home. Another reason for my silence was that I didn't want to blurt anything nasty in my fit of anger that might bring him even further away from the gospel. Sigh. It sucks that he's so distant from it already. Anyway, the worst part was I had to get down of the car and opened the gate for him when we reached home. (Its a usual routine in our household, that the passenger has to get down and open the gate for driver) I was extremely compelled to just stay in my seat and not budge at all. But I made myself do it for the sole reminder in Colossians 3:20. It felt like a downright defeat, like I was born to be made his servant for life. (Yeah it was that ego-wounding) I don't know if I was imgaining things in my fury, but I thought i saw this smirk on his face when the drove the car past me and as I closed the gate behind him. RAWR.
I would have to say, I wouldn't completely disagree with my dad about whatever he said just now. Some of what he mentioned were true pictures of my flaws and faliures. Unfortunately, there's just me, myself and I to blame. For poor time management skills, disorganised priorities and being such a horrible testimony to him.
On the other hand, it is comforting to know that at least God apprciates whatever i'm doing. And thats what that matters.
Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Term break has gone with the wind and school is BACK. It was kind of short and unproductive, and most of it was spent alone at home. The only day that I enjoyed was last Friday. Met up with long-time-no-see liping and meimei in the morning for brunch, did a bit of DLE and MAYC in the afternoon with Tiffy and Shaa at school and stayovered at Sunny's with Cass and Ian. Wii was a blast, and I never knew it could cause so much muscle ache. Initially, the night was still calm and still as we created our Mii characters, played Wii sports and a bit of Mario kart. In fact Cass and Ian were like doing their work on their laptops, while Sunny and I were busy having fun and making noise LOL. Then, there was this outrageos raving rabbids game which consisted of mini games that ranged from really physically and mentally draining, to brainless no-need-to-move-at-all ones. The ULTIMATE game of the night was this one called rolling stones where the characters had to run for their lives from a huge rolling boulder. I played it once and I was like panting and sweating like crazy already, and Sunny had like 3 attempts? Anyway, I kept losing to him in 90% percent of the games, and I think was awarded enough pink toilet paper to last me a lifetime (cos the loser gets toiletpapered). RAWR. Oh and I refuse to accept the fact that the rest of the 10% is beginners luck. no way manzxzxz.
ahhh I can't wait for the next Wii session. The long vacations, i beg you to hurry up come to mamaaaaa!!!
For now, Year 2 is so #&^%&*@# and i can't wait for year 3 (can you read my dread?).
ps. ewwww. _______ suck. Why do i always feel this gloom coming whenever it comes? I wanna get out of this and start new but I highly doubt its possible. How do people even do it, i wonder.

RAWR. Today'a class outing to sentosa is cancelled because of theres only 3 who confirmed with ameera so far. Whats wrong with 2C02 man. Sigh. This sounds stupid but I've actually decided on my beach attire like 2 weeks ago. (yes thats how enthusiatic I am about the outing) Our class seriously need some major bonding sessions and team building activities ( like combat skirmish WOOOTS!!!) . Oh wells. At least there's Fridayyy's stayover to look forward to. I don't have the slightest idea what to expect, especially with someone's current situation. I really hope I can pass on some of my optimism though, as delusional as it seems.
Oh and its been a long time since i've taken really nice pics with my camera. shurong the CAMWHORE is coming to haunt you soon so beware LOL.

Shurong needs therapy. Baking therapy, Retail therapy, sports therapy, movie therapy, skype therapy. If she's not gonna get it soon, she'll just faint and topple over you, creating a domino effect like children tripping over when walking in chuchu-train lines.
In detail,
Baking therapy: Let me try to recall when I last used my oven. If i'm not wrong, it was during the previous holiday when cass and grace came for a stayover and made mouldy green cookies from a lump of blue batter. But hmm, I wasn't exactly involve in their cookie baking as I was busy with my own IRISH CREAM TIRAMISU. fyi, my tiramisu only required refrigeration, not heat. Aiya the point is, I haven't been baking for a superduper long time already and I MISS MY OVEN!
(in fact i'm pretty sure the feeling is mutual:D)
Retail therapy: I need some new, decent, pretty clothes so that i won't feel like i'm living in the ancient times with my 4 three-quarters, 3 bermudas, and 9 T-shirts, 4 polo tees that have been worn to school interchangeably since semester 1.1.
Sports therapy: Netball practice has been cancelled for 2 weeks due to common test. Though I should be rejoicing, some part of me still feels the need to MOVE IT since life has been so sendentary with the daily monotonous eat-sleep-sh!t-doassignment routine currently going on.
Movie therapy: Yes I know I've just visited the cinemas recently but there are so many movies I want to (or have to) watch like monsters VS aliens, Helen Keller, little miss sunshine and finding Nemo(for AcademicWriting term paper assignment T__T) Oh btw, angels and demons was just alright. It wasn't as shiok as the read though. (In fact, my movie partner was yawning away during the movie. Oh and he refused to keep the movie stub to avoid the hassle of being questioned HAHA.)
Skype therapy: Just had a really looooong talk with xianny yesterday and realised that shes still my best HTHT partner:). Feel the sisterly love yo. And yes, JUNEY THE LOONEY: my brilliant, anti-germ cousin. The official vacations ought to hurry themselves so that I can go visit them. But for now, I shall reluctantly stick with skype:(
Sigh. Theres still one week and 4 days of school, and 3 individual assignments to complete before term break arrives. Unfortunately, I can't forsee myself receiving any of the therapies till then. So, please do me a favour and pray for me. For better time management skills and an enduring heart.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

If God was punishing me, I think it would have to be the plague of assignments and tests that is bugging me so much now. But i still have to be thankful cos i'm only getting one, unlike the 7 that pharaoh got for his unyielding heart to free the Egyptians. Anyways, God is good always. Better than what you think he ever is.
Managed to conquer another assignment this morning. Two down, manymanymany more to go. On the bright side, i think my secret fairy godmother ought to reward me with a complementary ANGELS AND DEMONS movie ticket for some major self-improvements:D
But for now, i think i deserve some long lost sleep. Goodnight.
ps. i'm still not over Helen Keller yet.

Just wanted to share a verse that really spoke to me yesterday night during Uth service at Cass's church. For the whole week i have been so bogged down by the schoolwork, i thought i was gonna lose myself.
If you falter in times of trouble,
how small is your strength!
Proverbs 24:10
It reminded me of how human i am, and how God is always there for us to depend on. As much as i want to pull up my socks, I seriously think i've got to learn to chill, and be my happy self again.
Oh yes. Happy 18th birthday Tiffany Yeo ZzzziXxxxin. You are loved:D

Sigh. This world is seriously becoming darker by the minute. Its almost like being stuck alone in the toilet and the lights suddenly die on you and you don't know what to do cos you're still halfway through your business (which was what happened to me in the library toilet today shhh). In this world where wrong seems right, where all the goodstuff and freebies seems to good to be true, where people try to read between the lines when you sound nice, where good people have to do stuff against their own conscience just to fit in, no wonder its so hard for people to accept the free gift of salvation that is right before them. sighsighsigh. I dearly hope and pray, that the candles around me will work and shine harder to bring a comeback to all things bright and beautiful(like God's creation):D
Today was a really lovely day. Was initially suppose to drop by SHUSHEE's PEP during lunchtime today it but it was cancelled. So i decided to lunch out(self created phrasal verb) with some of my fellow classmates. Had macs at KAP and majority of us ate the classic fillet-o-fish haha! After that we went straight back to school and i had to take my leave to rush AcademicWriting homework:(. Seems like i still have lots to improve on, in terms of my time management skills.(procrastination kills i figured)
RAWR. God's word is like the only thing thats keeping me sane right now.

Today is a day we celebrate our mothers for who they are and for loving us no matter what nonsense we up are to these days LOL. My sister's (temporary) absence has taught me to depend and appreciate her even more. Anyway, i think my mum is sugar, spice and everything nice, cos she is pretty, wise and God fearing.
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Proverbs 31:30
I thank God for my mother cos she is THE BEST and I LOVE HER ALOTALOTALOT:D

So many things to do, so little time. I forgot to wish someone special Happy Birthday yesterday oooopps. Plus, I think i've been neglecting my health these few days cos i've lost like 3kilos this week. Its sounds good but its super unhealthy ok! Pray for me please please please.
This is my prayer in the battle
when triumph is still on its way
i am a conquerer and co-heir with Christ
so firm on His promise i'll stand
But God is good and His mercies last forever! PTL!
ps. please don't get me wrongT_______T

My prayer for the week
Psalms 51: 19- 17
Create in me a pure heart, O God
and renew a steadfast spirit within me
Do not cast me from Your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me
Then I will teach transgressors Your ways,
and sinners will turn back to you
Save me from bloodguilt, O God,
the God who saves me,
and my tongue will sing of Your righteousness.
O Lord, open my lips,
and my mouth will declare Your praise
You do not delight in sacrifice, or would I bring it;
You do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
a broken and contrite heart,
O God, You will not despise
Thank you Jesus, for being so real and awesome in my life. You rule!
